Seminarian & Vocations Drive
October 3-4
Bishop Caggiano is asking all parishes to enthusiastically support seminarian formation and the work of the Vocation Office.
The Seminarian & Vocations Drive has become necessary to fund our 40+ men in formation, which costs more than $70,000 per seminarian annually. We also have an excellent new Vocation Plan to reach hundreds of young men in our diocese and provide personal support as they discern their vocation.
Many thanks to our pastors, priests, and parishes who are helping the Vocation Office to run this essential campaign!
Campaign Timeline
MID September
- Parishes receive pledge brochures
- Announce to whole parish via social media
September 26-27 – Announcement Weekend
- Make a pulpit announcement
- Include bishop’s letter in bulletin and and/or social media
- Include a bulletin blurb
October 3-4 – Appeal Weekend
- Post on social media
- Include a bulletin blurb
- Put pledge brochures in pews
- Preach on vocations (or introduce seminarian who will share his story)
- Invite parishioners to give either use the card in pew or online at https://bridgeportpriest.org/give/
- Prayers of the Faithful for vocations
October 10-11 – Reminder
- Remind parishioners to give
- Include a bulletin blurb
- Post on social media
*Important note: Seminarians will be visiting about half of our parishes on the weekend of October 3-4 to share their vocation stories. Fr. Ford will be in touch to coordinate these visits.
